Bearded Reedling

Alla olevissa kuvissa on sama yksilö, 1kv naaras, kuvattuna Espoon Laajalahdella. Ensimmäinen kuva on otettu 31.7.2010 ja jälkimmäinen kaksi kuukautta myöhemmin, 2.10.2010. Lintu näyttää käyneen läpi täydellisen sulkasadon, kuten sen lintukirjan mukaan pitäisikin. Lokakuussa esim. ruumiinhöyhenet ovat kiinteämmät, pyrstö on pidempi ja siinä on vähemmän mustaa ja mustat täplät ovat vähentyneet selässä. Uusissa käsisulkien peitinhöyhenissä on vaaleat reunukset. Nokka on myös vaalentunut huomattavasti.

The bird in the two pictures below is the same individual, 1st cy female, photographed at Laajalahti, Espoo, Finland. The first picture has been taken 31 July 2010 and the second two months later, 2 October 2010. It seems that the bird has had a complete moult between the dates, as of course it should, according to the literature. In October, the underpart feathers are not anymore juvenile-like loose ones, the tail is longer and with less black on it, and there are less black on the upperside. The new primary coverts have white edges. Also the bill has become much paler.
