(1.) 24 July 1999 Joroinen, central Finland. Typical Blyth's Reed Warblers are quite worn and brownish grey when they arrive in Finland. Olive tones are restricted to rump (but many show a weak olive tone elsewhere on the  upperparts).

(2.) 20 June 2000 Joroinen, central Finland. Supercilium is somewhat variable, but typically distinct and sharp between bill and eye, and normally only with a greyish tone in worn plumage.

(4.) 24 July 2004 Helsinki, southern Finland. Note a deep and clear emargination on P7 and a slight emargination also on P6.

(6.) 17 July 2002 Espoo, southern Finland. 2cy (known age). This bird has no emargination on P6. Typically the emargination on P7 is quite long and the outer web of P7 starts to became narrower where the outer web of P8 just reaches its narrowest part.

(9.) 30.6.2004 Espoo, southern Finland. Older than 3cy (known age). This bird has very typical emarginations and typically weak olive cast on upperside. The same individual as in photo 8.

(10.) June 1995 Varkaus, central Finland. Note that "narrowing parts" of the outer webs of P8 and P7 form a line. Eurasian Reed Warbler has shorter emargination on P7 (if any).
